Broward College Kenpo Club Officers Duties


The BC Kenpo Club is dedicated to preserving and promoting the ideals, practices, and spirit of the Art of BC Kenpo: courtesy, integrity, humility, and self-control by providing the practitioner/student with a safe training environment. We are here to assist the practitioner/student in reaching their BC Kenpo Club goals: understanding dojo etiquette/ curriculum, developing and improving skills, and to create an encouraging atmosphere for the development of the BC Kenpo Club. BC Kenpo assisting and inspiring students to understand martial arts/Sing Beng values, moral, and techniques- shaping them into model individuals for the world. And remember to execute your duties with absolute integrity of mind, spirit and body.

President:
1. Provide and execute vision for future growth of the club
2. Motivate officers and member
3. General meeting duties
4. Open meeting site and direct set up in preparation for general meeting
5. Introduce new members and/or visitors
6. Officiate club meetings
7. Introduce new or old business to membership
8. Ensure announcement of results for Student Life, Student Government Meetings, BC events
9. Review Dojo etiquette and dojo duties with all members
10. Close and secure meeting/class site, return to as-found condition
11. Obtain and announce location of meeting each month
12. Provide preliminary agenda of topics
13. Maintain contact with Club Advisor, club officers, and club members
14. Oversee special interest groups as needed
15. Act as ambassador to other clubs
16. Provide president's message to publication director in a timely fashion
17. Represent one's in a humble manner in dealings with outside entities and club members
18. Groom potential candidates for future presidential duties
19. Ascertain general membership’s interests
20. Determine best usage of available program budget to maximize general membership interest and to bring in
potential new club members
21. Provide input at annual budgetary meeting for upcoming expenditures
22. Research available avenues for future success of BC Kenpo within the art of BC kenpo program
23. Make initial contact with potential students
24. Make arrangements for club activities: matt cleaning, seminar, class
25. Provide biographical and program-specific information to publication director and publicity director
26. Make or assist in making travel arrangements and accommodations with Club Advisor,and committee members
27. Attend 90% of scheduled BC Kenpo class.
28. Assist Vice President and officers/members producing club news letter, website, Handle general club
correspondence.

Vice President:
Duties of the Vice President The Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in his absence and shall assist in the duties of the President at his direction.

1.Encourage members to attend Club events/class, Student Life Events, Student Government events
2. Ensure club has ongoing membership building program.
3. Make sure other officers know and perform their duties.
4. Ensure each meeting starts and ends on time.
5. Arrange for a replacement in your absence.
6. Appoint committees to help out on projects and programs.
7. Encourage all officers to attend Club meetings, BC events, and Student Government Meetings
8. Be responsible for general operation and supervision of club.
9. Prepare a successor for office
10. Help create and promote club web site
11. Attend 90% of scheduled BC Kenpo class.
12. Represent him /herself in a humble manner in dealings with outside entities and club members
13. Act as ambassador to other clubs14. Review Dojo etiquette and dojo duties with all members
15. Close and secure meeting/class site, return to as-found condition
16. Assist President and officer/members producing club news letter, website, Handle general club correspondence.

Secretary/ Publications Director:
Duties of the Secretary. The Secretary shall keep a record of all minutes of the Kenpo club’s regular/business meetings and shall publish the minutes in the Kenpo Clube-mail/ newsletter.
1. Promote club to local media, with the assistance of the club officers
2. Produce and distribute club monthly newsletter
3. Promote membership programs
4. Publicize upcoming club events: contests, theme meetings, etc.
5. Help create and promote club web site.
6. Appoint a committee to help out, above duties
7. Contact other clubs for joint meetings, idea exchanges, etc.
8. Attend club meetings, BC events, Student Government meetings.
9. Attend 90% of scheduled BC Kenpo class.
10. Maintain accurate club roster.
12. Handle general club correspondence.
13. Take meeting minutes and distribute to club members.
14. Arrange for replacement if unable to attend meetings.
15. Ensure meeting starts and ends on time.
16. Attend BC events , Student Government meetings.
17. Keep club files, including, contact and attendance records.
18. Prepare a successor for office
19. With the assistance of the club officers/members: collect, edit, and publish all official report , articles, and other
content in the month newsletter. To be e-mailed to all members.

Treasurer:
Duties of the Treasurer The Treasurer shall keep a record of all financial transactions in a manner approved by the by the Club Advisor;
1. submit a report to be published in the newsletter/e-mail and approved at each general meeting.
2. responsible for the collection of all monies due to BC Kenpo ; shall notify members when dues are delinquent;
shall keep a record of all requests and authorizations for payment.
3. make payments from the general treasury upon authorization of the Club Advisor.
4. keep charge of the BC Kenpo bank account; shall give a complete financial report annually.
5. Checks shall be written by the and signed by Club Advisor.
6. notify the membership chairman of dues received .
7. be responsible for preparing the annual operating budget to be presented to the BC Kenpo Club Advisor and
Officers.


Webmaster
It has fallen to your Editor/webmaster to also be responsible for maintaining the club’s web site: http://www.bcckenpo.com. In this capacity, the Editor/webmaster is expected to post information relevant to the membership in a timely manner, including monthly meeting /program information, as well as biographical and other items about the current officers/members. It is also the duty of the webmaster to keep BC Kenpo event information current, both on its own website as well as on other community or regional websites, and to reciprocate with clubs willing to share such information across the internet.

The Webmaster/Editor main job is to promote the club to the general public. They are in charge of writing and putting forward all club event announcements, interfacing with other related clubs/groups to promote club events, and spreading word of the club and its activities to the media, both locally and out of area, as needed. The Webmaster/Editor will work with the Club Advisor, Officers and members as needed in order to do this.
